How I turned something personal into a children’s education book.
My self-publishing experience has taken an unfamiliar direction.
While exploring children’s food and nutrition interests, I found that dissecting owl pellets is a popular science project for classrooms and homeschoolers.
Dissecting owl pellets provides a less intrusive way of learning about nature, food chains, and bones.
This brought it to home because a family of barn owls has been living in a palm tree in the backyard for some time now. We have excellent night and day-time viewings of these barn owls perched, sleeping, and flying among the trees.
After investigation, I found owl pellets! It has been a wonderful experience knowing the owls and their habits.
So, I have created a fun and engaging activity book for children who enjoy owls and owl pellets.

Before the pandemic, I provided one-on-one nutrition counseling, grocery store tours, and individual meal plans. Currently, I am in the process of changing in-person education to the virtual world and now discovering other topics to write about.
Activity books promote relaxation, entertainment, and learning to retain information individually or by sharing.
Activity books can include search for word puzzles, mazes, quizzes, dot-to-dot, questionnaires, and coloring pages.
Thank you for reading :-)
