It is no secret that pepperoni pizza is a popular food. Crispy pepperoni slices spread out on top of a bubbling five-cheese pizza is delicious and a favorite for many of us. But the pepperoni slices do contribute their share of salt and fat.

The key to most lifestyle changes in food and nutrition should begin with small steps towards small goals. To avoid a relapse, don’t bite off too much at one time.

So, if the thought of cheese pizza is unbearable and all your previous attempts to eliminate pepperoni pizza have been overwhelming, test out these tips in order.

1.Identify a stress trigger that is steering you toward the craving.

  • Is it a specific professional or personal situation that the fun of eating pepperoni pizza puts the problem on the back burner?

2. Avoid an elimination and or massive diet change.

  • Don’t go cold turkey by quitting pepperoni pizza.
  • Don’t switch to ham or Canadian bacon.
